Well, we had to sign off on the "warranty repair work" that was recently completed. They redid the entire garage ceiling as quickly as they could, but you can still see the seams and nail screw holes.

They fixed the leak problem, replaced, repainted the painted bathroom ceiling. When the contractor was done painting the bathroom ceiling and went to help in the garage, I had to call him back in to clean up his mess. He painted OVER my bathroom vent and left globs of paint in places. He did come back in to clean up the vent and paint globs.

The front step wasn't fixed properly and now looks worse than the initial step that was installed. I've given up on that. The garage floor is cracking more, and the VIP for my division had the nerve to stand in my garage WITH THE WARRANTY book and told me that he's not fixing it until it becomes a structural problem. All I can do now is warn other people to avoid the company like the plague that it seems to be.

It is not worth the money or the time that you will spend just trying to get what you paid for. These homes are so cheaply made. The company is more concerned with quantity, rather than quality and it shows. We've made the decision to sell and find a more reputable builder.

This was an expensive mistake and I wish I would have read the reviews prior to purchasing a Horton home. It is anything but a HOME.

I'm literally at my witts end with Horton Homes and between the construction manager, the warranty person, and his boss, my issues are only getting worse. I've had to put in numerous warranty work orders for substandard and subpar work.

When it rains, my vents are leaking and my back yard floods. I'm told "I'll get someone out there when I can". When they showed up, they didn't fix the major issues. They concentrated on the minor cosmetic issues and they did that completely wrong.

When the contractors came yesterday, not only did they NOT fix what the work order entailed, they fixed something else that didn't need fixing, they stained my support beam a completely different color than the the rest of my beams and I've gotten NO response from Taylor, the warranty kid who is apparently not qualified to do his job. I'm livid. I've taken pictures of EVERYTHING, start to finish on this house and when things started going wrong, I demanded everything in writing to document my claim because we are contemplating litigation. I'm also about to call the local news network to put DR Horton on full display of what kind of work they do and how they handle their alleged "warranty".

I've been dealing with this since March. I would chalk this up as a fluke, but my entire block has had fricken issues, the neighbors all talk amongst each other.

THIS IS NOT WHAT WE PAID FOR!! I want the house that Horton Homes sold me...not some sub par, half *** built, shotty construction that falls apart six months in!!!!

User's recommendation: DO NOT BUY A HORTON HOME...EVER!!!!

Monetary Loss: $1200.

Preferred solution: Price reduction.

Dr Horton Pros: Office staff when purchasing the home were amazing.

Dr Horton Cons: Frustrating warranty staff, Incompetent contractors, Substandard work, Corporate staff who does nothing, Bad at resolving major issues.
