We've owned our DR Horton home in North Florida for three years. It's bad.

They never foxed any of the issues addressed on the closing. Even though they agreed to fix the issues on the close no documents they stated they were cosmetic post closing. Those "cosmetic" issues included a bent microwave door and missing parts on our oven. We also found parts of the exterior walls without insulation.

Several of our roof trellises were actually broken or cut badly. They botched out parts of the roof framing and there was one truss that was actually broken in two and they patched it together by nailing another piece of wood to the outside. It was bad and we almost lost the roof in a storm. Had to pay to have it fixed.

When they installed the carpet they did not put any padding underneath. Carpet is already worn out and it sounds like a heard of elephants constantly. We had major electrical issues that somehow were not caught on either the county inspection nor our home inspection. Goes to show you they all work to cover each others butts or they simply don't care.

The box was overloaded and mislabeled. We had to have an electrician rewire. It's been costly. Never build with DR Horton.

That's all I can say.

Really really terrible. Our neighbors have similar experiences.
